I've only had this TV for a couple of days so I will have to come back with an update. I have to admit since I was only able to find one review for this television I was a bit nervous about purchasing it. So I did purchase an extended warranty for piece of mind. So far so good. This television is beautiful. The would grain is not simulated, it's a a high quality Italian wood. The panel is LG Philips so the picture display is beautiful. The high def is crisp and clear as you would expect. If you go straight to the retailer for purchase you can find a online coupon code for $20 (I know a drop in the bucket). If you use the coupon code the shipping is about $5. So, for about $985 you get a really nice beautiful piece. Sorry I could not be more technical about it but it works, it works well, the picture quality is excellent, easy set up. The one thing so far that is holding me back from a 5 star rating is programming a universal remote. I don't have the time to go through all of the possible combinations. I've called the manufacturer to see if they possbily know the code for my cable companies universal remote. If they don't looks like I'll be using 2 remotes.
